The work included the renovation of Wentworth Hall, a 1920s Georgian-style brick dormitory at Phillips Exeter Academy. The building was brought into compliance with current code requirements by the creation of two new entries — a centered front door with porch facing the quadrangle, and a jewel-like glass vestibule at the side for student gathering and waiting. These additions were sensitively designed to be consistent with the building’s original design and the historic character of the campus. Renovation of the interior provided new painting and finishes throughout. Consolidation of four faculty apartments at one end of the building provided acoustical separation and privacy for faculty.
